When the 370Z was introduced for 2010, manuals were still pretty common, auto-braking was newfangled (introduced by Volvo in the new XC60, I think), and CUVs hadn’t taken over.
Everything else has changed, so I would guess that it sells to people still wanting a proper manual transmission.
